Hello!
My name is Áine (pronounced Anya) and here is a little glimpse into my artistic journey:
As a young child, I enjoyed being creative in the different ways I knew how — making up songs, stories, dancing, drawing, and painting — although I never took it very seriously. I was just creative for fun, as a way to pass the time. Through middle school and high school, I took art lessons which were the highlight of my school week. To this day I have happy memories of moments with my art teacher. Thanks to her patient instruction, I had a wonderful foundation to build on when I entered art school as an adult.
In the Fall of 2018, I began my artistic journey at the Academy of Art University in San Francisco, California where I later graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree. I grew tremendously as an artist during my time there. I had moments of feeling completely lost and like I had no idea what I was doing and other times where I felt like I was good at art. I’ve always had a “talent” for art but talent means nothing without hard work. Through my time at the academy, I put in countless hours of hard work and I will continue to do so.
“I’m going to make everything around me beautiful — that will be my life.” This quote from Elsie de Wolfe has stuck with me over the years and I’ve made it my motto. I want to bring beauty to the world in the little ways that I can. My journey as an artist is only just beginning. I will continue to learn and grow. I will keep making beautiful art and sharing it with the world so that I can do my part in making everything around me beautiful.
